If the tunnels prove dangerous, wait for us. We'll join up with you.
And yes, though it pains me to say it, I did. At the time, all I could think about was how I could continue my art here, and approaching the gods was the only way. Delight seemed like the natural choice, and it would be of mutual benefit to strike a deal with her. It seems I've been very foolish... I'm sorry.
i don't plan to engage if i can avoid it, not just yet at least. i have a feeling the null will be keeping close track of anyone who tries to cross them...
there's nothing to be sorry for, and besides i'm sure you're not the only one that she may have duped.
i don't suppose there was anything said during your interaction with her that might have given some kind of clue as to where her loyalties lay?
Not at all. We only spoke briefly; the nature of the deal was one of an equal trade. The more art I produced that could inspire happiness in others, the more supplies she would grant me in return.
She said nothing of her true intentions. I shudder to think that my art could have helped empower her to do all this...
oh, yusuke. i forgot to send you this, for some reason i had it saved on my phone from home... it's not quite a proper card but, again, Happy Birthday!
Akira, I hope you don't mind. I've taken the liberty of adding Akechi to the conversation.
Akechi, I realise this is sudden, but I need the help of you and Akira. Someone very dear to me was murdered, and is still at large. It's absolutely imperative we change her heart, before an incident like this occurs again. Will you help us?
I thought you might think differently to the indifference of the adults here, but I suppose I was mistaken.
Hope can't be relied upon forever. He was severely weakened not so long ago, and he could lose his power once again. Besides, if she's causing people to suffer, it doesn't matter whether their lives are endangered... What matters is only that she is inflicting terrible harm on innocent people. I can't turn my back on that.
I'll summarise my findings thus far on our current target. Makoto, I hope this isn't too overwhelming to burden you with when you arrived such a short time ago, but your help will be vastly appreciated, too.
1. Caedra is from a race called the tanar'ri. In our terms she seems most closely comparable to a demonness. I don't know if, like the gods, that eliminates the possibility of being able to steal her heart, but I believe we still need to try.
2. She has great magical abilities, including the power to summon more demons from the blood of her victims. This fate befell Queen Margaery Tyrell some months ago.
3. The only person I was able to learn who stood against her in the past was a powerful elf named Maglor. He killed her, but unsurprisingly, Hope revived her. It seems Hope scarcely cares if he revives killers and victims alike. Maglor won't fight her again for fear of censure within the city, and the guard seem to turn a blind eye to her wrongdoings... That is the way things operate here.
4. Akira, we shouldn't trust Trafalgar Law any longer. I don't know if he has any connection to Caedra, but he was strangely ambivalent when I questioned him. Regardless, he is not a good person, and openly admitted as such. He can tolerate her actions because he himself is a killer.
Besides that, I've found where she lives. It's protected by what is most likely magic, but I want to see if we can find a way to gain access to learn more about her motives. Knowing the risks, will you all join me?
If you're sure you want my help, then I'll lend you my strength.
[ Because he understands the Phantom Thieves have all the reason in the world not to trust him, even if are going for a tentative truce. As for Akechi, well, he has very little to lose, anyway. ]
[She's biting her tongue about Akechi for now because there are bigger things on her mind.]
What makes you think that she'll have a palace here? It seems like there are different rules to this world. Death isn't permanent and these sorts of powers aren't the sort that we have seen before.
I don't know if she does, and I don't know if this will succeed with any certainty. I'm sure Morgana would be able to help us in that regard, but he isn't here, so we have to explore these possibilities for ourselves.
If you have a better plan, I'm willing to hear it.
Before we even move forward, we need to make sure that there is a palace and that we can infiltrate it like we would any other palace. Even if Mona was here, I don't know if he'd understand the rules any better than we do. Whoever is in control of this place, they pull in lots of different types of magic.
We need to make a plan for any potential outcome, otherwise we'll be unprepared and things could blow up in our face.
I understand that. That's why we need to gather as much information as we can, to find out what might be considered keywords we can use to access her Palace. Without knowing her motives, we're running around in the dark.
That's where things become more complex, and why I'd like to raid her living quarters before we take any further action.
Firstly, she's a demon, so her motives are clearly rooted in her base nature. If demons are desire incarnate, it's little wonder she behaves as she does. Secondly, finding a location she might view with a distorted cognition in Hadriel might be difficult... What if her Palace is actually located back in her own world?

i guess the null were serious after all.
... that was delight, wasn't it?

And yes, it was. She betrayed everyone... even another so-called "god"...

[Better off than Delight, at least.]
I can't believe it... I didn't take their threats seriously before. That was a mistake.

i'm going to get a better look.
Yusuke, didn't you... make a deal with her back when you first arrived?

And yes, though it pains me to say it, I did.

let's re-group at the house in an hour's time.
that should be enough to get a grasp on the situation, so we can decide how to proceed.

there could be a chance that... she's not in the city anymore.

i'm going to keep looking.
several hours later...
anything yet, on your end?

It's better than remaining in this hellish place.

but, at least, no one seems to have seen her at all, not even where the confrontation was at its peak, so—
where ever she is, she's all right.
i just know it.

We'll be all right, too.
Whatever becomes of this place, I am here to support you, as you have always aided and supported me.

I don't mind, but I believe it's rather pointless. Doesn't Hope usually revive the dead?
[ NOT... a very sympathetic answer, but at least he's cooperating?? ]

Regardless of what Hope is capable of, I believe we could send an important message to the perpetrator...
( namely that murders aren't cool. what do you think akechi? is that a message you can get on board with? )
Yusuke... do you have a name?
no subject
That is all I have to go by for now, but I will spend the immediate future gathering as much information as I can on her.

( simple things all three of them knew well by now, but akira couldn't help himself from putting on that leader hat, once in awhile. )
And where she spends her time.
